Walid singer an LAU student majoring in marketing, devoted himself for managing with other guys, a website called houseplanet.dj where they  help transmit music information to listeners, and provide the latest news about international Dj’s, and producers.
Hibr had the chance to interview this young man where he is a student at day and an international DJ booker, promoter, and event planner by night. He really loves what he is doing, and never thought of it as a regular job.

When asked about his position in houseplanet.dj he answered, ”there aren’t any position, I was there since the start, we were just a few guys and with the collaboration of all the visitors we helped transmitting music info to the listener and providing all types of musical genres for ethical download.”

He added,” It’s not about responsibilities, and what ever we can do with our connections, friends and knowledge we put it into the project.”

He also said that he has always been inspired by music, from Rock and Metal to R&B and now electronic music. He also said that the nightlife in Beirut is one of the best in the world, thus it was good way to start making money out of passion.

When asked about Beirut nightlife he answered, “Beirut has the best night life in the world as I said, we have all sorts of clubbers, and all sorts of places to host them, where else can you party until 11 am? This is not night life for us, it’s a lifestyle, and if we want to compare Beirut to other countries I would say that, our underground scene is awesome in comparison to the gulf and rest of the middle east but to Berlin and London, I think we are working on that.

Singer worked on over 4 major top 20 DJ events along with booking, marketing and organizing events, he did not work with NRJ or any radio station, but he works as a freelance booker where he has been hired by Q entertainment to do some booking, and marketing.

Throughout his career Singer met great Dj’s like Marco V,Sharam, (Deepdish) dubfire, Satoshi Tommie, Wally Lopez, Cosmic Gate, John Aqua Viva, Lee Haslem, and a lot more . He believes that a person should love what he is doing because you cannot force anyone into loving anything.

When asked about the difference between Dubai night life, and other countries he replied,” Dubai and others Middle East (excluding Lebanon) hold parties to raise sponsorship, therefore they don’t really do it for the masses, and they don’t even depend on it for  the ticket sales, as long as there’s is a product behind it, but here in Beirut its not like that; we depend on the fans to actually attend, so that the event is successful, we are not looking for business, but pleasure is out aim.

Singer said that we have great Arab Dj’a like Fady Ferraye, Gunther and Stamina, Robin and Nesta, Ziad Ghosn, Ali Ajami and many more amazing Dj’s who really created a nightlife scene in Beirut.

Beirut is known for its exciting nightlife, and for the next coming months, many radio stations and sponsors will be hosting great parties and concerts for Sean Paul, Missy Eliot, Armin Van Burn, and many more
