Imagine that you are sitting on your sofa and suddenly you come across a show on TV discussing female circumcision, and all these Islam sits talking about how important it is to protect the female from her body. Its 2010 yet some people are still practicing this method; that is considered a crime and they are just getting away with it without punishment from authorities.

Maybe Arabs did not reach the level of awareness, or they were afraid to test any medical treatment that will allow these ladies to experience pleasure one more time. Here comes the role of Clitoraid; a non governmental organization based in Burkina Faso which aims at healing and creating real, ever lasting changes for  women who have been forced to experience clitoris excision or genital mutilation against their well.

According to Nadine Gary one of the volunteers in the program said that in order to rebuild the female clitoris`, a local anesthetic is applied so that no pain is experienced when the surgeon uncovers the root of the original clitoris left after the excision.

She also commented on the fact that this root and tissues will become the new clitoris. According to the doctors who are working in this organization, this procedure takes six weeks to completely heal, with sexual pleasure and genetic normality being the end result.

A lot of people did this surgery and loved the result but because it requires high medical equipments, its a bit expensive and not anyone can do it, plus a lot of Arab and international ladies need this to regain their femininity, but the publicity is high and their goal is to gain the trust of all ladies of all the world.

as mentioned in the website, Clitoraid is willing to provide these operations to as many women as possible withier in Europe or Asia. One of the organizers said "they will keep the cost of the operation to a minimum, having mainly volunteers involved in the whole process. But in order to give such a service to millions who have been mutilated, they need the help of professionals and others. So Clitoraid is urging the public to" adopt a clitoris", thereby enabling a woman to regain her body in its true form, before it was denied to her through this barbaric act. "

The founder of the Clirotaid is the leader of the Raelian movement that talks about all life on earth, which was created by extraterrestrials. Raëlians, believe that the Elohim periodically contacted ancient civilizations through spiritualists such as Buddah andJesus. Each one carried messages matching with human development at the time. Raël (Claude Vorilhon) is a former French sports-car journalist and test driver founded the Movement in Paris, France in 1974 after a huge conference.

He founded many organizations; one of them is Clitroiad, which was created 2 years ago in Burkina Faso. As a result he is planning to fund for a hospital called  ‘Pleasure Hospital’ and operate on all African women who wished to be operated on, for free, with the assistance of volunteer doctors. Immediately, the association’s volunteers were put to work to realize this, thus coming to the aid of the significant number of Burkinabé women who wished to undergo the operation and taking up the offer of many doctors to rebuild excised women’s clitorises.

Hibr recently had the chance to speak with one of Clitoraid’s representatives in Saudi Arabia, Donna Grabow.

Grabow is one of thousands of volunteers who share Clitoraid’s goal. She told Hibr that Egypt is known to be one of the places where female circumcision is practiced most widely amongst families. Greater awareness is necessary for people to understand that genital mutilation is a crime against humanity, she said.

Grabow also revealed that Clitoraid is trying to expand their campaign outside the American and European borders, through events, lectures and conferences that concentrate on this topic and bring people together to fight for this humanitarian cause." please I pray for Arab women who are suffering and I want to tell them, please be patient you will get there."
