Head of the Palestinian Armed Struggle in Lebanon Mounir al-Maqdah rejected an offer by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to transfer him to any destination of his choice, pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat said Friday.
Abbas had ordered new appointments within the leadership of Fatah in Lebanon.
It said Abul Aynayn is likely to be based in Amman, Jordan.
Fatah's military commander in Lebanon Sobhi Abu Arab, who maintained his post, said Maqdah was denied promotion due to a mistake he made during the fighting that broke out on February 15 between members of the Fatah faction and Osbat al-Ansar militants at Ain el-Hilweh camp.
Abu Arab said that Maqdah was biased in favor of Osbat al-Ansar and had differences with Abul Aynayn.
